One of the important facts that can be noticed about James, the Son of Sebedee, is that he was called when he was ‘mending the nets’ (Matt. 4: 21). It is interesting to note that Jesus’ disciples comprised not only those who are good fishers like Peter and Andrew but also good menders like James and John. Effective ministry includes not only round the Clock action, but also creative use of the leisure, rest, evaluation and rejuvenation. Unless we can be good menders we cannot be good fishers. As a minister, this is a challenge to me /usto sit back and evaluate my/our ministry and mission. If the ‘nets are torn’ definitely it needs to be mended. If not how much ever do I/we work, I/we may fail to accomplish the goal.
